It’s been a long time since I started building websites, and I would use an euphemism if I said I saw the web changing dramatically. Websites have become crucial elements for any company that wants to establish a proper image, increase its clientele and provide itself with services that nowadays are essential: home banking, package tracking, online purchasing, and online merchandise catalogues. Also, a website is a wonderful means of expression. I believe that these two aspects, functionality and creativity, which satisfy the owner’s needs and express his/her identity, should work together in order to make an effective website.
I make websites using several technologies. For graphics my favorites are Adobe Fireworks©, Illustrator© e Photoshop©; for page structure I prefer xhtml; I do a massive use of css, JavaScript, php (or asp) as server-side scripting language, and MySQL (or MS access) for databases. I love JQuery frameworks, which gives pages impeccable usability and style, and Codelgniter, a powerful php library.
I develop presentation and descriptive websites, e-commerce platforms, photographic galleries, online catalogues, blogs, forums, portals, all super simple to update, even for lazy or uninformed administrators.

Customised templates
Cms are content managers, tools that allow you to manage your website without any technical knowledge. Examples include WordPress, the famous platform for blog management; Joomla, CMS for websites and portals; Magento, popular CMS for e-commerce.
A template is what you need if you already have an idea of the CMS you want to use for your website, but you have no clue about how to start personalizing it. A template completely “dresses up” the website you’ve created with a CMS, until it becomes unrecognizable compared to the original version. As a result, your website will suit you or your company much better, it will properly convey your messages, and, above all, it will be unique.
A template is obviously cheaper than a whole website. Nonetheless, if the website has to be created from the scratch as well as personalized, this is not the best solution.
